Tyler and Alyssa, 2016 Wedding #7

Tyler and Alyssa, 2016 Wedding #7

This wedding was in Columbus, Ohio. And let me just say, Columbus is lovely!! I was really impressed by the city and what was all going on there. More on that later though.

Tyler was Greg's first college roommate in the dorms at Purdue and it was so great that Greg got to be a part of the wedding party. Tyler and Alyssa  are both so nice and so sweet. I'm so glad we got to be there for their big day.

I was kind of nervous about going because I knew I wouldn't really know anyone there. But alas, I made a new friend!! Brittany, one of the other groomsmen's finances, was so awesome and brought me in to the group of people hanging out on Saturday before the wedding. She is great!! I'm so glad I got to meet her. We had lunch on Saturday at this restaurant along the river called Milestone 299 and it was really good and the weather was perfect! Then we went and met up with some other wedding guests at a new brewery downtown called Pins Mechanical Co. which had just opened and was so cool! Part of it was like an arcade for adults and there was outdoor space with food trucks and giant Janga, and also a cafeteria style area with just tables. It was huge! And very cool. I wish West Lafayette had places like it.

Anyway, I so appreciate Brittany hanging out with me. She and her fiancee Dean will hopefully come visit us at Purdue sometime soon. That's a wonderful thing about weddings...like Greg and I just made friends with another couple. We love making friends!!! It sounds so cheesy and shit but it's true.  Instead of walking around downtown Columbus by myself all day, I got to meet new people and see places that I wouldn't have found by myself. It's a wonderful thing.

So I'll back up a bit. The rehearsal dinner was at a restaurant called Due Amici and they just got a bunch of apps for everyone...literally the best meatballs I've ever had! They were so good!!

So the wedding was at this place called The Ivory Room. It was a lovely ceremony and the reception was an open bar so that's always great. The food that we had was soooo good. I literally ate every last bite. Cleaned my plate real quick! Once again...I ate way too much. But I'm not sweating it. The area was kind of dimly lit so I apologize that some of these photos aren't that bright. Also, the girl that I sat next to at dinner, Nicole, was wearing this awesome floral dress and she let me photograph her for this post. I love her dress!!

A little bit about my dress, I wasn't sure what to wear. I pulled out this pink J.Crew cotton caddy dress that I've had for probably like 5 years. Put it on and realized a couple things....my underarms were in-between waxes, my chest was broken out, and it's fall so strapless isn't the most appropriate fall wedding attire. So then I was like okay, either I put a shirt on under the dress, or I wear a cardigan or something. That's when I saw my J.Crew ruffled top and the wheels started turning. I tried it on and wasn't sure about the look immediately...but then it grew on me and I loved it. It was unexpectedly cute and chic and fall-ish and solved the problems I was concerned about. I'm very curious though, what do you guys think about this look? Do you like it? Dislike it? Is it almost there, but not quite? Seriously, let me know. Shoes are my from Target....very old.

I hope you guys enjoy looking at these pictures. I think Greg and I only have 1 more wedding to go this year!!!!

Wait, one more thing. Greg and I went to Wolf's Ridge Brewing on Sunday after the wedding for brunch and it was the best brunch I HAVE EVER HAD. It was simply incredible. If we are ever back in Columbus again, we will be there. I have a picture of the food below. I got the Toad in the Hole. So good dude. Overall, we ate very, very well in Columbus.
