For the Love.
Before Gregory, I loved the game of soccer most.
I think it’s honestly probably pretty dumb for me to have vlogged this while I’m clearly in a state. I didn’t do it this way for attention or like a bunch of sympathy or anything, I simply wanted to capture myself while I was in the raw emotional part of it. I didn’t want to overthink it or plan it out; I wanted to show my vulnerability and also that I’m not ashamed or embarrassed to express it.
This is the story of my injuries and my love for soccer. I wasn’t the kid in high school going to parties, I was the kid who got up at 5am to drive to her soccer games 3 or 6 hours away with her mom, every weekend. I lived for soccer back then, and it’s still a part of who I am today.
I recorded this just now, about an hour ago. It ain’t pretty, but it’s more real than anything I’ve ever published. It shows my love for the most beautiful game in the world, and also the impact that each surgery has had on my life. With each one, there’s been one word that stands out to me…a word that I don’t think I said in the entire vlog: perseverance.
DO WHAT YOU CAN’T.
Thank you for watching.
