Blue Collared Stripes

Now playing: Boy Boys Boys - Lady Gaga

First of all....who watched Lady Gaga's performance during the halftime show??? My goodness....you guys know I'm a huge Gaga fan. She's just such an artist in every sense of the term. She's so incredibly talented. I thought the show was fabulous. The game was pretty good too.

Moving on....this look is one of my favorites!!!!! For a couple of reasons.....

  1. It's cute with an edge
  2. It's so comfortable
  3. It says....I got this.

I got this shirt on clearance at J.Crew a bit ago. (It's still available and still on sale!) The day after I bought it, a 65ish year old woman came into the store wearing it! I love that. A simple item like this striped shirt can be worn in a multitude of ways by people with completely different style. Versatility is key in a great piece of clothing...and this cowl-neck striped top has that. I wanted to spice it up a bit, so that's what led me to pair the gingham underneath and pop the collar up. It shows through just a little bit and gives the look a bit of spice. I just threw on my trusty navy gap pants (similar here) with it and a pair of Tory Burch canvas flats to give a casual feel. You could easily pair it with a skirt and booties to dress it up though. These J.Crew Jane sunnies (also on SALE now) add to the attitude I was going for. You can tell by my face in these pics how I was feeling. It's amazing how just changing my outfit shapes my attitude as well. I love that about clothing. (Necklace here) My watch is one of my favorites from Fossil. (similar here) It's no longer available, as I've had it for several years, but I still get compliments on it almost every time I wear it. I love Fossil. I probably don't put them on the blog enough, but they are a great, timeless American brand.

This was the fastest outfit that Erika and I have shot to date. I think it only took us about 4 minutes. I'm not kidding. After we wrapped, we went to lunch at Cafe Patachou...always a favorite....and the hostess guys said they liked my outfit. They were very nice...I told them that we just got done shooting it for my blog and then one of them asked if that's really what I wore...waving his hand indicating the collar, and the necklace, and I was like.....of course. What the heck do you think? Haha I think he thought it was a bit much...I, on the other hand, found this outfit to be just right. What do you guys think?
