2016 Outtakes!

2016 Outtakes!

I wanted to do a little something different for this post. It was actually Erika's idea so I need to give her credit. The photos that I put on my Instagram and on here for the posts are the ones that I typically dub "the best". And they paint a pretty picture of blogging and of me enjoying my clothing. So much of that is thanks to my photographer and dear friend, Erika of Erika Aileen Photography

BUT.....what goes into our shoots is not all glamour and "instagram-worthy". This post is about what goes on behind the scenes of our shoots!! The not so perfect photos..the ones that show the real side, funny side, and the in-between moments.

Some of those moments are captured below from my various 2016 shoots, and I think it's important to show you guys this side of blogging as well. Like when the wind just won't stop blowing and your hair goes from curly to straight in 4.5 minutes... or when you are caught dancing mid-shot... or when you forgot spare shoes so you have to throw on your soccer cleats because that's all you have in your car. A couple of these are moments when the pose just isn't working for me. Hey, I'm not a model....things that look good in my head, don't always look good. I'm learning though!

More about shoot prep: It takes so much planning for me to select outfits, accessories, shoes...all of that, and organize it in preparation for a shoot. We usually shoot 3-5 looks in an hour to two hours just depending on locations, how much time it takes me to change, and what-not. Also, typically I'm running back to my car, changing, and then trying to make sure the look is what I want without having an actually mirror. (Changing in your car in the middle of downtown Indy with people walking right by in groups is not so glamorous, but is often necessary!) Shooting for the blog is so fun and challenging and overall, but also a lot more work than I initially thought it would be.

Erika deserves so much credit for my aesthetic. Before every shoot, we discuss the objective of what I'm going for and she does an amazing job capturing what I have in mind and giving me pointers along the way.

Anyway, that's really all I have for this post. I just thought it was a great idea and maybe it would show you guys another side of me. :) Please comment below and leave me some feedback! And feel free to ask any questions you may have!! All of these looks featured have individual posts on the main page of TCF!
