All that Glitters...

All that Glitters...

Now playing: Jennifer Lopez - Get Right....circa 2005. :)

Alright so here's the deal guys. As a general rule, I am 90% against sequins. I don't know...they're just not for me. I'm mentally making a list of all of the clothing that I own that has sequins....and I can only think of two items....this skirt and another tank top. Which I also bought for New Years in college. I will wear sequins one day a year...and that's New Years Eve. I realize that I might be missing out...oh wait, just thought of a third item....which I ALSO wore for another New Years in college....okay sorry. So basically.....I only will tolerate sequins on New Years Eve. That might change one day, but who knows. Maybe it's a texture thing for me. You guys know by now that I like to maintain a certain level of comfort in my clothing...sequins aren't comfortable to wear....I'm speaking in terms of items that are entirely sequins...and they also get snagged on shit.

So anyway, that's that. You know where I stand, and I'm sorry if you disagree. I went to Target to return a sweater on December 30th and saw this skirt on the clearance rack for $12....and I thought...that'll do just fine I reckon. I really love this silhouette of it. And it was pretty comfortable for sequins. I got this faux leather jacket from Forever 21 back in the day (similar here)...and then I'm actually wearing old soccer socks with my heels. I thought they brought a certain flavor to the outfit....and also a practical note because they kept my legs a little warmer.

Greg and I didn't really have any plans for NYE other than to go to dinner at Union 50. One of our absolute favorites!!!!! My god, it's so good. If you live in the Indy area, or are going to Indy at some point and want a good dinner restaurant....go to Union 50. Get the fries as an app and then take it from there. Greg and I were literally talking about the fries while we were eating them for like 10 minutes. I'm not kidding. We decided that of all the fries we've tried in the universe....these are at the top of the list. That's saying something. The beer cheese is top notch as well. But I think Scotty's beer cheese might have them beat. Anyway, Union 50 is amazing. GO THERE.

So after dinner we were torn because some of our friends in Indy were having people over before they went to their big party at Union Station....but we also knew we had to drive back to West Lafayette so we thought we better not join in. I probably haven't mentioned this much on here, but since I left my engineering job.....we are on a budget. Like a pretty strict budget. Union 50 was a real treat....but that was our choice to have a nice dinner instead of going to a big party that you had to buy tickets to. And we also didn't want to pay for a hotel room or an Airbnb....so we kept it low key this year and just went out on campus with some friends up here. And you know what...we had a great time! Of the 7 years I've lived in West Lafayette....I had never been here on NYE...it was fun!!

That's pretty much the summary of our NYE...below are photos of my outfit. They were taken on my phone just a heads up. Unfortunately, I can't put Erika in my pocket and take her everywhere with me to capture everything, but Greg did a pretty good job I think!

Also, as an added bonus, I've included a picture of us the next morning for your viewing pleasure......it's so funny.

Happy New Year party people!!!

And then......the morning after. :)
