Beating the Baby Blues with Brooks

Beating the Baby Blues with Brooks

Now Playing: Sour - Olivia Rodrigo

Hello again everyone - it’s been a minute. I’m so excited to share this post with you, as it’s about something so integral to who I am: fitness! But more specifically, all things postpartum body, fitness, and mental health.

Before I dive in too much I just want to give a huge shout out to Brooks Running for being such an amazing partner to collaborate with. Their new summer gear is amazing!!! These shorts I’m wearing are my new favorite running shorts. The pockets are perfect and the length and weight. They just really nailed it.

All products are linked below so just keep on scrolling down. :)

I made this video because it just seemed like the best way to summarize my journey with postpartum body and fitness. It’s been up and down and definitely not easy, so I just wanted to talk about it in the hopes that others might be able to relate. I hope you find it helpful!!!

As I mention in the video, having gear that I actually feel good in for my runs has truly made such a difference in my mentality. Because I’m still carrying lovely weight in my hips, none of my old running shorts currently fit me. Just being straight up….and that sucks and it’s been discouraging on a mental note knowing that my shorts don’t fit. But Brooks really changed that for me.

Also, the other big thing from the video is screw the scale, go with how your clothes are fitting and don’t worry about the number so much as how you feel. Use pictures to compare because even though I haven’t lost any more weight in the past 5 weeks, when I look at pictures from before, that’s where I actually do see a difference in my body. So even though it’s hard, and it’s honestly really hard for me, try not to weigh yourself too often!

Again, I love the chaser shorts!! I’m wearing the 5 inch length, but if you like shorter, there’s a 3 inch as well. I also am obsessed with this Drive 3 Pocket bra. It’s my new favorite run bra from Brooks…and I think I’ve tried nearly all of them now. It not only has the phone pocket in the back, but also has side netting pockets for a key or credit card…. I just love how Brooks thinks of everything. Also love the long sleeve and tank…and clearly I love this new Blue color. :) The material on all of the products is just so good. Comfortable and still sweat-wicking. My shoes are the Glycerin 19 and I really like them. They’re a great balance of cushion and still light-weight and sleek in the run…if that makes sense. I highly recommend them if you like a running shoe that has support but is still light enough so you feel super agile. I’ve linked everything below for you guys so go check it all out!!

Note on sizing: my normal shorts and top size is a medium, but I wear a large in Brooks, so if you’re in-between sizes, I would size up!

Thanks for reading, I hope you found this helpful and if you find yourself in the thick of it…

YOU GOT THIS. :)
